Eddie's broad shoulders

Meet Eddie

Iโ€™m not a clairvoyant but I know youโ€™re looking for a celebrant. Since you ended up reading this, I will also assume youโ€™re looking for someone whoโ€™s fun, quirky and doesnโ€™t know how to pronounce throughout properly.

I think you found the one.

Hi! I’m Eddie – but you may call me Eduardo if you can roll your tongue properly.

I am a self-identified nerd, a failed musician, an enthusiastic scuba diver, ink aficionado, dog parent, day-time graphic designer, ordained pastafarian and authorised marriage celebrant. Iโ€™m also Brazilian and Australian at the same time… I think I may be too many things at once.

Literally me being pooed on by a giant Manta Ray

I came to Australia in 2009 with 2 suitcases, a broken heart, a Nintendo Wii and the will to make a new life for me. I lost most of those things by now but the drive to reinvent myself and find a new path persisted.

I worked many years as a Graphic Designer in Perth but the passion for it faded long ago. It was my job, but not what I was anymore.

Then friends started to get married. I went to a few weddings as a guest and realised that none of them were conducted in Portuguese. I thought that I maybe could do it on the weekends to help my fellow compatriots but I was wrong.

I couldn’t do that just in the weekends because I fell in love with it. Being a celebrant quickly became much more than a job – it was who I was.

It started because I wanted to help Brazilians have their wedding ceremonies in our native tongue, Portuguese, but soon it went beyond that. Now, I am privileged enough to have worked with couples from all over the world, learning their stories and telling them in a unique way.

I like comics, scuba diving, movies, D&D, dogs and being a geek. But what I also love is being a celebrant and helping you to have the most special day ever by adding fun, passion and a hard to pinpoint accent to your wedding day. Believe me โ€“ everything sounds better with a Brazilian accent.

If everything goes as planned, at the end of your wedding day I will have made you giggle a lot, maybe cry a few happy tears and relax enough to enjoy the best day of your life the proper way โ€“ with an ear-to-ear smile and the feeling that the best part of your life has just begun.

Truth is, Iโ€™m not a traditional celebrant.

I will get to know you, your partner, your story and I will see what you two are about, what makes you smile, what makes you giggle and what makes you happy โ€“ this is the stuff of your ceremony: the joy of being together and the joy of doing weird stuff not too many people get. Donโ€™t worry – I get it.

I fancy myself as a storyteller. I love to read and add my own twist to all kinds of tales โ€“ from adventures to romances. Your wedding day is the high point of your story together โ€“ and I will make it sound, feel and taste like the greatest story ever told.
