Where is your accent from?
It’s from Brazil, but people have told me it’s from Borat. I found that quite flattering.
How soon can I get Married?
Probably a Month from today. In Australia, you must fill a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM), sign it in front of an authorised witness and lodge it with your celebrant (who can be your witness for that) at least a month before your wedding day.
Example: If you and your partner fill a NOIM, sign it in front of a celebrant and give them the document on 6th of August, you will be able to get married from the 6th of September.
There are exceptions, tho: a prescribed authority may authorise a marriage before the month-long period is served. In cases of severe health issues, work related travel arrangements, legal procedures, among others, a shortening of time may be granted.
Do you bring your own audio equipment?
Yes. Usually 2 Bose S-1 speakers and a wireless microphone. All battery operated so no need to have power on site. If you don’t have musicians performing at your ceremony, the music for the key moments (Processional, Signatures, Recessional) may be played through my speakers.
Why don’t you have your prices listed here?
Because I don’t really know what you want from me, yet. I do have a guide for my prices, but I take every wedding as a unique experience and pre-pricing wouldn’t feel right for me. Don’t worry – I am not the most expensive guy out there and, after you chat with me, you will actually think I am a bargain!
How many languages do you speak?
English and Portuguese – but I have added elements of Korean, Mandarin, Polish, Spanish, French, Dutch and many others to feel your guests who may struggle with english feel included and welcomed.
Do you have a list of preferred vendors?
Yes! Here you can find some of my favourite wedding vendors in Perth. This list is always growing.
Do you do Wedding Receptions as well?
Yes and I love them! Find out more about my MC Services.
Do you use AI for your wedding ceremonies?
Absolutely not. It may be helpful for some things but I will not ever use AI for any creative endeavours. Your story is not a prompt and your guests are not consumers. When a couple approaches me, it is because they want a ceremony written with heart and wit, not something churned by an algorithm. I am a human celebrant (I checked), marrying human couples (mostly) – no automaton required.
Do you do wedding rehearsals?
I do – but not the way you’re thinking.
Wedding rehearsals can be useful do help you visualise how the flow of the ceremony is gonna be and make you more present when the day comes.
However, in reality that’s not my experience. Weddings are not performances and there is no right or wrong way to do it, so rehearsing it is somewhat pointless. Also, the logistics of putting all of the key players (at minimum, both of you, wedding party members and celebrant) at the venue at a time that everyone can do it and the venue can accommodate is nightmarish. In 8 years as a celebrant, I have never seen a rehearsal that didn’t add stress to the process.
But what I said at the beginning stands – knowing the ins-and-outs of the ceremony can benefit you and ease your nerves, so I created a way to do your rehearsal without the logistical challenge that it poses.
Introducing the world’s first Tabletop Wedding Rehearsal Miniature Kit (that recently got an upgrade), something I created, designed, 3d printed, and painted so we can have your rehearsal at the pub while we share a meal and a beer during one of our meetings.
